Continuous innovation and ongoing improvement are key aspects of the SAHM corporate culture. In a hundred years of company history, there have been many changes. Apart from the technology, entire markets and societies have undergone several transformations. Thanks to our adaptability, innovative strength and consistently high quality, we have been able to grow and develop, not standing still to this day.
After all, not moving forwards is a step backwards.
Our most recent innovation is the Fermac RUV16 production line, which has an extremely flexible range of uses. This technology enables eight-colour fully automatic printing with ceramic screen printing inks and 6 UV inks.
As well as being able to achieve very high production volumes, this system stands out for its energy-efficient use of UV inks. Another unique feature is the integrated camera in the machine, which is able to recognise the correct position on the glass where the decoration should be applied without human intervention.
SAHM has developed a special technique of hardening glass. The unique surface that is created when glass is hardened makes the item less likely to break when subjected to mechanical and thermal stress. Tests have proven that even the glass's durability over time is improved (less glass corrosion caused by regular machine washing).
Glasses that have already been hardened during the production process can be individually decorated at SAHM using the latest UV ink technology. These inks then only need to be cured.
Once decorated, the glasses do not require further thermal treatment, meaning they are able to retain their excellent robustness. We can raise a toast to that!
